Sheffield will once again be transformed into a city of LEGO® bricks this summer as Sheffield BID brings Sheffield Bricktropolis to the city centre from 17th to 30th August

Outer Space Trail

Follow the stunning BRICKLIVE® Outer Space visitor trail of planets, astronauts and space rockets made of LEGO® bricks.

These awesome models will be on display at retail and leisure venues across the city centre. Fans can experience a diverse display of galactic LEGO® brick models and there’s even a friendly alien from the farthest edge of the Green Spiral Galaxy.

Use the new and improved Sheffield Bricktropolis trail app, or pick up a map. Trail maps are available from Friday, 9th August at Sheffield BID’s Unit 1 next to the Winter Garden on Surrey Street (open 10am to 6pm Monday – Saturday (7pm Thursdays) and 11am to 4pm Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday).

Maps will also be available at participating venues or you can simply download one using the link below.

Use the Bricktropolis trail app for a chance to win some great prizes. The map and the official app will be available online 12th  August and the trail officially starts at 10am on Saturday 17th August until 4pm on Friday 30th August. (Opening times may vary. Sunday trading hours will apply Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August. Please check with participating venues for details.)

Interactive Building Zone

For kids, the Interactive Building Zone at Barker’s Pool will be running free workshops, with thousands of LEGO® bricks ready to be transformed into whatever imaginations can conjure up.

Using team work, problem solving and creative skills, little ones can enjoy sessions themed around Towers & Bridges, Space Station, Flower Garden, Gravity Racers and Earthquakes, whilst older children can get involved in Sumo Bots!

The Interactive Building Zone will host several assisted play sessions specifically for children with disabilities. These sessions are indicated on the timetable.

Admission to the Interactive Building Zone is free but requires an admission ticket which is bookable in advance. Children must be accompanied by a parent or supervising guardian at all times.

AFOL (Adult Fans of LEGO)
The Interactive Building Zone at Barker’s Pool will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm when Sheffield’s AFOL members display their own fabulous builds.
Entry is free. No booking required.

Make and Take events 
Build a Space Rocket or an Alien Badge at Make and Take workshops with Sheffield-born Master LEGO-builder Michael Le Count.
A Make and Take session lasts 20 minutes and the children get to take their builds home.
The Make and Take sessions are free but admission is by ticket only. Find out more

Brick Flicks
The Light Cinema at The Moor will be screening the LEGO® Movie 2 throughout Bricktropolis. £3 per ticket.

Selfie Zone
They’re are plenty of opportunities for some great “selfies” along the trail.
Trail-goers can transform into the Apollo 11 crew at Virgin Money Lounge at Orchard Square/Fargate.
And both John Lewis (Barker’s Pool) and Debenhams (The Moor) will have a few extra friends waiting for the little ones.

Brick Pit (Stay & Play)
Call into Sheffield’s Cathedral on Church Street for stay and play LEGO-style.
The Brick Pit will be open from 8.30am to 5pm each day (including Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday).
Entry is free. No booking required (children must be supervised at all times).
 

Monday 19th August, Wednesday 21st August, Wednesday 28th August and Friday 30th August
Giant Mosaic Builds
Join us at City Hall’s famous Ballroom for the Big Mosaic Build where families will be able to contribute to building a large LEGO® mosaic.
The big builds will take place between 10.30am and 3pm on all four days. Families can drop in at any time to have a go between these hours.
Admission to the site and taking part in the activity is free.
The events are funded by Sheffield BID and run by the charity Fairy Bricks, a not for profit enterprise who donate LEGO to children in hospitals around Sheffield.
